A few notes-
This is just for fun.
Nobody thinks traffic is the only indicator of success, and nobody thinks any of these services can measure traffic very accurately.
"Overall rank" is just an average of the three ranks right now, I'm very open to algorithm-tweaking suggestions.
Site data is designed to be up to a couple of weeks old, I'll add a "refresh" button to force an update if people care.
I built this site because I enjoyed watching my startup (Jamglue) rise and fall in Marcelo Calbucci's Seattle Startup Index, where he tracks the local startups.
Seth Godin does a similiar thing tracking all the Web 2.0 Sites, and here's a wiki-maintained index of Ruby on Rails websites.
In particular I thought it would be fun to see how Jamglue did compared to the other Y Combinator companies. You can see the results.
Data for the rankings comes from Alexa, Compete, and Quantcast. Without them this site couldn't exist.
There are a few other data sources coming soon, and ideas for more are always welcome (preferably ones with an api).
Editing is a little unintuitive- click on notes, or the name/description of an index to cause a text box to appear. Hit enter (or the "save" button for the description) to save your changes, click away or hit escape to cancel.
Authentication will happen if abuse does.
